The engine design of the Ferrari 296 GTB is what makes this car so unique. It is the first time in almost 65 years that Ferrari fits a V6 engine in one of its cars. Not only is it turbocharged with a displacement of 2.9 litres (hence the car’s name 296 with the 6 referring to the cylinder number), but the engine is combined with highly advanced electric technology. The V6 engine alone produces 654hp, and adding the 165hp generated from the electric motor, we end up with a total power of 819hp. This is sent exclusively to the rear wheels via an 8-speed dual clutch transmission. During hard acceleration, the hybrid function provides extra force, boosting performance even more, and the car reaches 100km/h in 2.9 seconds, with a top speed of 330km/h. 

The Ferrari 296 GTB offers four driving modes: eDrive, hybrid, performance (where battery charging is prioritised) and qualify. The car can also drive on sole electricity for shorter distances, making it ideal for inner city drives. The interior of the Ferrari 296 GTB has been digitally enhanced, having fewer buttons and more touchscreen options, showcasing a more minimalist feel. The wheelbase is 50mm shorter than that of the Ferrari F8, however do not let appearance deceive you.
