About Aston Martin
Brand Aston Martin and History
The Aston Martin brand has a long history that began in 1915 in London, when the first Aston Martin was built. The brand's motto was to build racing cars for the road. The company behind Aston Martin was called Bamford & Martin Ltd. and was founded in 1913 by Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford. However, neither founder stayed with the company for long. Only a few hundred Aston Martins were built until World War II.
After the company had various owners and managers, it was taken over by British entrepreneur David Brown in 1947. Even today, the DB is reminiscent of David Brown in certain model names. His era saw the development of the Aston Martin DB5, the irresistible James Bond car that gained worldwide fame through the films Goldfinger and Fireball. After some interim ownership, the legendary automaker has been listed on the stock exchange since 2018, under the name "Aston Martin Lagonda Global Holdings Plc".
At Edel & Stark you can hire an Aston Martin so that you can experience this feeling for yourself.
FAQs about Aston Martin
Are there any special requirements to rent an Aston Martin?
No. The procedure and required documents remain the same. Drivers should have a valid driver's license and a passport or identity card (ID).
What is fully comprehensive insurance?
If you choose comprehensive insurance, you are immediately covered for any damage caused to the car during a collision, regardless of who is at fault. You only have to cover the deductible.
Can anyone else drive the Aston Martin besides me?
No, only the registered driver is allowed to drive the car. Contact our team to request an additional driver at no charge.
Do you have a 24/7 customer support team in case of emergency?
Yes. We have a dedicated customer support team that works around the clock to handle your emergency requests.
What is the mileage limit? Should I be concerned about it?
The mileage limit is the discretionary number of miles covered in your rental car agreement. If you exceed it, you will be charged a minimum fee per km.
Which side is the steering wheel on the Aston Martin?
In the Aston Martin cars at Edel & Stark, the steering wheel is on the left side when facing the direction of travel. These are therefore models built for right-hand traffic, even though Aston Martin is actually a legendary car manufacturer from Great Britain, where left-hand traffic prevails and the cars there are therefore right-hand drive.
