About Tesla

Brand Tesla and History

Tesla is an American manufacturer of electric cars, battery storage and photovoltaic systems. Tesla was created in 2003 with the participation of Elon Musk and other innovators. They wanted to accelerate the mobility turnaround and first developed the Tesla Roadster with a chassis of the Lotus Elise, which was finally produced and sold about 2250 times.

Tesla went public in 2010 with 226 million US dollars and sales of around 117 million USD. With the acquisition of a German assembly plant operation in 2016, Tesla was able to greatly increase its sales figures, bringing it closer to profitability. Until then, Tesla had not made a single dollar in profit. In 2018, Tesla overtook Chinese electric car maker BYD with 800,000 vehicles produced, allowing Tesla to turn a profit for the first time in 2020. With 1,313 million vehicles delivered in 2022, Tesla was able to increase its revenue to $81 billion, making it one of the 15 largest vehicle producers in the world.

The model range of Tesla offers from the small car Model 3 to the SUV Model X also sedans such as the Model S. The vehicle is particularly convincing in that they were developed as software and built around it the car, not like all other car manufacturers vice versa. As a result, the vehicles are designed to be enormously intuitive and the autopilot is considered the best currently available. The incredible power of the electric drive accelerates the Tesla Model S Plaid from 0 to 100km/h in 2.1 seconds with a top speed of 322km/h. Thus, the five-seater sedan can easily keep up with the fastest Ferraris and Lamborghinis in the world.

FAQs about Tesla

Are there any special requirements to rent a luxury car?

No. The procedure and required documents remain the same. Drivers should have a valid driver's license and a passport or identity card (ID).

What is fully comprehensive insurance?

If you choose comprehensive insurance, you are immediately covered for any damage caused to the car during a collision, regardless of who is at fault. You only have to cover the deductible.

Can anyone else drive the rental car besides me?

No, only the registered driver is allowed to drive the car. Contact our team to request an additional driver at no charge.

Do you have a 24/7 customer support team in case of emergency?

Yes. We have a dedicated customer support team that works around the clock to handle your emergency requests.

What is the mileage limit? Should I be concerned about it?

The mileage limit is the discretionary number of miles covered in your rental car agreement. However, if you exceed it, you will be charged a minimum per mile fee.

Can a Tesla drive independently?

Every Tesla of the current vintages will soon have FSD (Full Self Driving) installed, which will allow complete autonomous driving. The problem, however, is that this is not yet allowed on European roads. Legislative changes are underway and should make this possible soon.

Is there a Tesla with all-wheel drive?

Every Tesla has all-wheel drive. Due to the individual electric motors per wheel, Teslas are considered particularly safe to drive on sand, snow and off-road, as each individual wheel can be driven separately.
