We took a closer look at the <strong>newly registered luxury cars in Germany and Switzerland<\/strong>. Furthermore, we compared the development between 2016 and the first half of 2017.<\/p>\n<h3>Comparison of luxury cars by category between DE and CH (2016)<\/h3>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;1432&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In Switzerland, <strong>2% more SUVs<\/strong> were registered compared to Germany<\/li>\n<li>In addition, <strong>3% more limousines<\/strong> were registered in Switzerland<\/li>\n<li>Finally, a <strong>higher quote of super cars<\/strong> can be observed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;1434&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The second graph indicates that Germany registered <strong>1% more sports cars<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Mini-Vans are 3% more popular<\/strong> than they are in Switzerland<\/li>\n<li>Furthermore, <strong>1% more convertibles<\/strong> were registered in Germany<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Comparison of luxury cars by brand between DE and CH (2016)<\/h3>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;1424&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The biggest difference in the registration of different brands shows with Mercedes-Benz. In Germany, Mercedes takes a 28,26% share of registered cars. This amounts to a difference of +12,62% compared to Switzerland<\/li>\n<li>However, with a share of 15,64%, Mercedes is the brand with the most registered vehicles in Switzerland as well. Besides Mercedes, the brands <strong>Range Rover, Porsche<\/strong> and Volvo are popular in both countries.<\/li>\n<li>The brands Audi and Tesla show large differences between the countries: While in Germany, the percentage of registered Audi cars is 3,35% higher than in Switzerland, the percentage of registered Tesla cars is 4,08% higher in Switzerland.<\/li>\n<li>There is also a difference in exclusive luxury cars. In Switzerland, more cars of the brands <strong>Aston Martin, Bentley, Bugatti, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, McLaren and Rolls Royce<\/strong> were registered than in Germany.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Comparison of luxury cars by category between DE and CH (2017)<\/h3>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;1426&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The graph shows that in the year of 2017, an <strong>increase in the categories limousines, sports cars, convertibles and supercars<\/strong> can be observed.<\/li>\n<li>In Switzerland, 2% more sports cars were registered in the first half of 2017.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;1504&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In Germany, the number of registered SUVs, sports cars and convertibles has decreased.<\/li>\n<li>However, the <strong>share of limousines and supercars increased<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>In Germany, 3% more limousines were registered than in Switzerland. This accounts for a change of 6% in total.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Comparison of luxury cars by brands between DE and CH (2017)<\/h3>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;1430&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In Switzerland, more cars of the brands <strong>Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Mercedes and Porsche<\/strong> were registered in the first half of 2017 compared to 2016.<\/li>\n<li>Less cars by Jeep and Range Rover were registered than in 2016.<\/li>\n<li>An interesting fact is that there seems to be a trend towards electric cars. Compared to all of 2016, there is already an <strong>increase of registered Tesla cars<\/strong> in the first half of 2017.<\/li>\n<li>Contrary to Switzerland, Germany does not see the same trend.<\/li>\n<li>Furthermore, the <strong>decrease of registered Jeep cars<\/strong> is apparent.<\/li>\n<li>Other than that, the proportions of car registrations of the different brands in Germany has remained approximately the same.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All percentages are proportion numbers, not absolute numbers.
