Lovely trips during the International Motor Show Geneva

You are visiting the International Motor Show Geneva but want to relax a bit as well? We looked for the perfect trip recommendations for you!

If you are in the mood for pure driving pleasure, you can circle the Lake Geneva in a single day. About 170 kilometers of road along the shores of the lake are looking forward to you driving on them. Around the lake, you can explore countless smaller and bigger sights, a round course without stopovers would almost be a shame! The ES Magazine presents some very nice trips around the Lake Geneva that are ideally suited to do during the International Motor Show Geneva.

Mountain pass roads and watch history

From Geneva, a gorgeous pass road behind Nyon leads to Vaud onto the Col du Marchairuz. This beautiful route can be enjoyed best in a convertible like the XYZ. If you keep following the course of he road, you will enter the Vallée de Joux, a remote high valley in the Swiss Jura. Here, you can dive into the fascinating history of the Swiss clock and watch industry – or into the lake Lac de Joux, if you’re looking to cool down.

Afterwards, you can take the same road again to get back to Geneva. Alternatively, if you prolong your trip by leaving the Vallée de Joux on the northern side of the lake. Like that, you can take a detour to Lausanne before returning home.

Car reccomendation: For the tour to the Vallée du Joux, we recommend either a Bentley GT or a Bentley GTC. Both models combine a noble and graceful appearance with a lot of engine power underneath the engine hood. Therefore, they offer great driving pleasure on the mountain pass roads in the Jura area.

Breguet

Vineyard terraces and small towns

The Route de la Corniche is a beautiful street between Lausanne and Montreux. It leads you along the Vineyard Terraces of Lavaux, one of the 12 UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Switzerland. Even though wine tasting is not an option during the drive, it definitely pays off to afford a good bottle of wine for a cozy ending of the evening later on.

If you want to do a longer trip, you can start in Geneva and explore Lausanne, the Vineyard Terraces of Lavaux as well as Montreux. Like that, you will see the full beauty of the northern shores of the Lake Geneva.

Car recommendation: For the partially rather narrow streets along the Vineyard Terraces of Lavaux, we recommend driving a Porsche Boxster S. The small and agile convertible glides through the streets effortlessly and remains not to be underestimated with its sporty engine.

Lavaux

Thermal springs and culture

Évian-les-Bains is a pretty town on the French southern shores of the Lake Geneva. It is renowned for the thermal springs and the mineral water. It is especially suited for deep relaxation. Various treatments and massages in the spa areas will take care of your physical well-being, whereas the different museums and exhibitions refresh your mind. The relaxed atmosphere in Évian-les-Bains top off this nice day trip perfectly.

Car recommendation: The smooth curves along the Lake Geneva can be best enjoyed in a Ferrari F8 Spider. This racy Italian perfectly adapts to the streets and offers a lot of driving pleasure for this route.

Evian Thermen

Driving pleasure and panoramic view

Even though the Mont Salève is situated six kilometers away from Switzerland in the Savoy foothills of the Alps, it is still considered as Geneva’s landmark mountain. The reason for this is the breathtaking view on the city, the Lake Geneva, the Jura and the Alps. If you don’t feel like the busy life of the city and the International Motor Show, you can relax perfectly on the winding pass roads to the Salève. Get in a Lamborghini Aventador, enjoy the engine power and feel the headwind in your hair. Pure relaxation!

Car recommendation: Prove your skills behind the steering wheel and climb the Mont Salève with a Lamborghini Aventador. The brutal engine power of this sports car is more than enough for the mountain pass roads and the tough and muscular appearance of the car makes for an impressive contrast to the surrounding nature.
