About Porsche

Brand Porsche and History

Porsche is a German manufacturer of sports cars, SUVs and sedans based in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen. The company was founded in 1931 by Ferdinand Porsche and today employs over 36,000 people with annual sales of over €33.1 billion. Porsche was purchased by the Volkswagen Group in 2009.

On December 1, 1930, Ferdinand Porsche set up his own design office in Stuttgart. The first vehicle developed by the family business was the Porsche Type 12 in 1931. Funnily enough, the count of Porsche models only started at 7, presumably to give investors the impression that one was trustworthy and had been on the market for some time. A few years later, Porsche achieved a breakthrough with the development contract for the VW Beetle, which formed the basis for Porsche's success. This was followed in 1963 by the development of the legendary Porsche 911, which is still being developed and produced very successfully today.

As of 2006, Porsche was the smallest independent car producer in the world with sales of 97,000 vehicles per year, earning an average of €21,799 per vehicle. This was soon followed by the development of the Porsche Cayenne in 2002, the first Porsche off-road vehicle, and with it a huge success story of luxurious and classy off-road vehicles. Many other luxury vehicle producers followed Porsche's example and developed their own off-road vehicles.

Today, Porsche offers a very wide range of SUVs, sedans, sports cars, hypercars and also electric cars. With nearly 310,000 vehicles delivered in 2022, Porsche is one of the top luxury car manufacturers in the world.

How big is the trunk space in a Porsche 911 Carrera?

The Porsche 911 Carrera unfortunately only has a very small trunk in the front of 132l which is only enough for two small hand luggage. In addition, the Carrera has another small trunk in the back. However, the four-seater sports car offers more space on the two rear seats, on which soft luggage can also be transported.
